Lying-in-State in Ottawa:

  • Location: Sir John A. Macdonald Building, 144 Wellington Street, Ottawa.
  • Dates: Tuesday, March 19, and Wednesday, March 20, 2024.
  • Visiting Hours:
    • March 19: Dignitaries will pay respects in the morning, followed by public visitation from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
    • March 20: Public visitation from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Lying-in-Repose in Montréal:

  • Location: Saint Patrick’s Basilica, 460 René-Lévesque Blvd West, Montréal.

    • March 21: Dignitaries and family guests in the morning, public visitation from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Funeral Ceremony in Montréal:

  • Location: Notre-Dame Basilica of Montréal, 110 Notre-Dame Street West, Montréal.
  • Date: Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 11 a.m.
  • Details:
    • Funeral cortege will precede the ceremony, featuring various ceremonial elements.
    • Religious components led by Archbishop Christian Lépine and Reverend Miguel Castellanos.
    • Eulogies by Caroline Mulroney, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Pierre Karl Péladeau, Wayne Gretzky, James Baker, and Jean Charest.
