Canadian Bartenders Deliver a 21 Cocktail Salute to the Legendary Jack Daniel for the Holiday Arrival of his New Tennessee Rye

Twenty-one cocktails from 21 bartenders makes holiday entertaining a snap

TORONTO, Nov. 23, 2017 /CNW/ – Just in time for the holidays, Jack Daniel’s launches its first ever Tennessee Rye, a gift that Canadians and Canada’s best bartenders have had on their holiday wish list for years. Now, the wait is over!

The iconic Jack Daniel Distillery took its 151 years of whisky making expertise to create a rye whisky Jack’s way – spicy in flavour but sippin’ smooth in character.

Jack fans from Alberta, Ontario and Quebec are rushing to stores to gift the Jack lover in their family, while Canada’s bartenders honoured Jack with a 21 cocktail salute. Covering every cocktail category from Tikis to Flips, Juleps and Fizzes, Stirred cocktails, Sours and more, Canada’s cocktail experts have ensured every holiday taste was met.

1.5 oz. Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Rye
0.5 oz. Amaro
1 oz. Cinnamon Honey Syrup
0.75 oz. Fresh Lemon
Muddled Rosemary
Toasted Rosemary and Cinnamon Stick

To make cinnamon honey, click here. Pour cinnamon honey into a shaker tin and gently muddle the rosemary with it. Add all other ingredients and ice. Shake to dilution and double strain into a rocks glass filled with ice.

0.5 oz. Herradura Reposado Tequila
0.5 oz. Earl Grey Tea/Passion Fruit/Orange Sports Drink Reduction
3 oz. Tropical Blend Juice (pineapple/lemon/lime/guava/orange)
2 Dashes Angostura Bitters
Ginger Beer

To make the Earl Grey Tea reduction, click here. Add all ingredients and ice into a shaker tin, shake and pour into a clear glass or mug. Top with ginger beer.

2 oz. Apple Juice
0.5 oz. Passion Fruit Syrup
0.75 oz. Lemon Juice
Fresh Cilantro
Ginger Ale

Pour passion fruit syrup (available at specialty grocery stores) into a shaker tin and gently muddle it with the cilantro. Add ice and other ingredients except ginger ale. Shake and strain into a rocks glass with ice. Top with ginger ale.

Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Rye has a grain bill of 70 percent rye, 18 percent corn, 12 percent malted barley and is carefully charcoal mellowed for a finish that’s distinctly Jack. At 45% alc./vol , it offers rich flavors from start to finish. On the palate, this well-rounded rye whiskey glows with accents of caramel and dry baking spice followed by a warm, peppery rye character finish on the back end. The aroma is an enticing blend full of soft fruit layered with an underlying rye spice and oak.

We think our grain bill provides the ideal taste and character – one that’s bold and balanced and not dominated by one flavor,” said Master Distiller Jeff Arnett. “Our goal with Tennessee Rye was to create a versatile whiskey with a balance of flavors that can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks or mixed in a classic American whiskey cocktail.”

Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Rye is now available in Ontario, Alberta and Quebec in 750ml bottles. It retails for approximately $39.95 per bottle.
