OTTAWA — Prime Minister Mark Carney announced the members of his new Cabinet on Tuesday, unveiling a team tasked with advancing the government’s ambitious agenda to redefine Canada’s economy, strengthen ties with the United States, and deliver on promises to reduce the cost of living and bolster national security.
In a statement, Carney said the new Ministry is designed to deliver “the change Canadians want and deserve,” and emphasized that the government will act with “urgency and determination.”
The Cabinet appointments reflect Carney’s commitment to what he described as a new economic mandate, focused on catalyzing investment, raising incomes, and building an economy that can withstand global shocks — positioning Canada as the strongest economy in the G7. Collaboration with provinces, territories, and Indigenous Peoples will be key to advancing these goals, the Prime Minister added.
