The City of Toronto has received a Canada’s Top 100 Employers award for 2018, as announced today in a feature magazine published by The Globe and Mail.

“I am proud that the City of Toronto has been recognized once again as one of Canada’s top employers,” said Mayor John Tory. “It’s important that members of the Toronto Public Service have a positive work environment in order to deliver high quality services and programs to the people who call Toronto home, do business here and visit our great city.”

This national competition, now in its 18th year and organized by MediaCorp Canada Inc., evaluates employers against other organizations and recognizes those who offer the most progressive and innovative programs and exceptional workplaces for their employees.

The areas of evaluation are: physical workplace; work atmosphere and social; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement.

“Great workplaces such as the City of Toronto foster a progressive and innovative culture so our public servants can grow and prosper in their career,” said City Manager Peter Wallace. “As the leader of the Toronto Public Service, it’s an honour and a privilege to receive this accolade once again on behalf of the City.”
