TORONTO — The Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show (CMTS), Canada’s largest showcase for manufacturing innovation and industrial technology, is set to return to the Toronto Congress Centre from September 29 to October 2, 2025, with a larger footprint, new tech showcases, and programming designed to address the shifting priorities of Canada’s manufacturing sector.

This year’s show marks a 20% increase in show floor space and will host over 10,000 manufacturing professionals, 750+ suppliers and OEMs, and a lineup of new specialized technology zones aimed at accelerating the sector’s evolution and productivity.

“The growth of this event shows that Canadian manufacturing isn’t just adapting to new economic realities – it’s accelerating,” said Steve Prahalis, COO of SME, the nonprofit organization that produces CMTS. “CMTS 2025 brings the nation’s manufacturing innovation under one roof, offering a 360-degree view of where the industry is headed.”

New Technology Zones Reflect Industry Priorities

This year’s CMTS introduces three dedicated showcases that spotlight market demands and emerging technologies:

  • RAPID + TCT Showcase – Making its CMTS debut, this additive manufacturing hub will feature companies like Stratasys Direct, HONPE, and Javelin Technologies, showcasing applications in tooling, part consolidation, and agile production.

  • Smart Manufacturing Experience Zone – Focused on IIoT, AI, and energy optimization, this zone features solutions from Cimatron Technologies, Genius ERP, Edgecom Energy, and Robatech Canada.

  • Discovery Zone – A platform for Canadian startups like Estare Inc. and Innovate-Ops Inc., bringing fresh thinking and innovation to the shop floor.

Addressing Industry Shifts Through Strategic Programming

CMTS 2025 will deliver programming that directly addresses some of the most pressing issues in the industry, including supply chain resilience, workforce transformation, and reshoring.

Main Stage sessions and Tech Hub events will explore:

  • Global Strategy & Economic Resilience

  • Smart Technologies in Canadian Manufacturing

  • Innovation in Machine Tools

  • Workforce Development in the Industry 4.0 Era

Backed by Canada’s Manufacturing Ecosystem

CMTS is supported by a vast network of strategic partners and industry groups, including:

  • Canadian Machine Tool Distributors Association (CMTDA)

  • Canadian Tooling & Machining Association (CTMA)

  • Automotive Parts Manufacturers’ Association (APMA)

  • Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME)

  • Next Generation Manufacturing Canada (NGen)

Media partners include Canadian Metalworking, Manufacturing AUTOMATION, PLANT Magazine, and Shop Metalworking Technology.

Navigating Canada’s Productivity Challenge

CMTS 2025 arrives at a critical moment: while capital investment in Canadian manufacturing is expected to grow 15.5% in 2025, reaching $38.4 billion, Canada’s labour productivity fell 1.8% in 2023—the steepest decline among OECD nations. With export reliance on the U.S. falling to 68%, and trade with other partners rising 42%, manufacturers are looking for innovative strategies to scale efficiently and diversify.

“CMTS 2025 is a fantastic opportunity for us to reconnect with our customers and build new partnerships with Canada’s top manufacturers,” said Marc Hasrouny, President of Megatel CNC Solutions Inc. and President of the CMTDA.
