Conor McGregor Sued by Alleged Miami Assault Victim

Lawsuit follows McGregor’s arrest on Monday on charges of strong-arm robbery and criminal mischief.

MIAMIMarch 15, 2019 /PRNewswire/ — UFC fighting champ Conor McGregor was hit with a lawsuit filed by the victim of Monday’s alleged assault.

In his lawsuit filed in Miami-Dade County, Florida, Plaintiff Ahmed Abdirzak alleges counts for battery, assault and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

According to the Complaint, Mr. Abdirzak was waiting for his rental car at the valet at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida when he recognized McGregor walking nearby.  A fan of the UFC standout, Plaintiff sought to take a picture of McGregor with his smart phone. Upon seeing Plaintiff, McGregor walked towards him and reached out with his hand as if to greet Plaintiff.

However, according to the suit, when Plaintiff held out his hand, McGregor tightly held Plaintiff’s arm so that he could not move away.  McGregor then flew into a rage and punched Plaintiff’s smart phone out of his other hand.

The Complaint further alleges that McGregor then picked up Plaintiff’s phone, hurled it to the ground and began to stomp on the phone. McGregor then picked up the smashed phone, slipped it into his pocket and strutted away to a waiting SUV, according to the lawsuit.

As McGregor made his way towards the vehicle, Plaintiff demanded that McGregor return his phone. According to the Complaint, however, McGregor just laughed, yelled “F—k you!” to Plaintiff and sped away in the SUV.

The lawsuit was brought by Miami attorney, Santiago A. Cueto of the Cueto Law Group law firm. For more information http://www.CuetoLawGroup.com
