Completion of hydro utilities work continues to support the construction of the future Laird Station, working in the westbound curbside lane on Eglinton Avenue East, from Brentcliffe Drive to Laird Drive. Crews are also completing works to connect water and sewer services at the main and secondary entrance. Work continues to finalize telecommunications utilities relocations from overhead to underground around the Eglinton Avenue and Laird Drive intersection. Short term lane closures on Eglinton Avenue and/or Laird Drive will be required and these works are expected to be underway until the end of March 2017.

Excavation continues at both the main and secondary entrance sites. The first phase of long-term road occupancy, crosswalk and sidewalk closure is scheduled to begin as early as the end of March 2017. To continue progressing works prior to the long-term road occupancy being in place a couple days next week a sidewalk closure on the west side of Laird Drive from Eglinton Avenue East to Parklea Drive will be required.

Safety Video

In the interest of making sure pedestrians, cyclists and drivers stay safe during construction of the Eglinton Crosstown stations, Metrolinx has produced a new video, with the help of Toronto Transportation Services, outlining a number of important things that everyone needs to keep in mind while travelling along the corridor.
