Program Helps Students Reach Their Biggest Goals For 10th Consecutive Year

PLANO, TexasDec. 3, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Dr Pepper celebrated the 10th anniversary of its Tuition Giveaway during College Football Conference Championship weekend by awarding $1 million in tuition to students who competed at halftime during five marquee games. Five students took home $100,000 in tuition grand prizes after successfully throwing the most footballs into an oversized Dr Pepper can in 30 seconds.

This year’s $100,000 tuition grand prize winners include:

  • Dr Pepper ACC Championship – Bryce McWhirter from Plains, Texas studying engineering at South Plains College
  • Big 12 Championship – Jennifer Stathopoulos from Queen Creek, Arizona studying to be a nurse practitioner at Chamberlain University
  • SEC Championship – Alina Scarlett from Mesquite, Texas studying to be a speech pathologist at the University of Texas at Austin
  • Big Ten Championship – Caleb Lines from Nashua, Iowa studying agricultural studies at Wartburg College
  • Pac-12 Championship – Alberto Reyes from Houston, Texas studying business at University of Houston-Downtown
