On Easter Saturday, hundreds of volunteers will sort thousands of pounds of food to help feed the hungry in Toronto

WHAT:            

Daily Bread Food Bank’s Spring Drive Public Food Sort

As part of Daily Bread’s Spring Drive, hundreds of volunteers will be sorting and packing food
donations at Daily Bread Food Bank on Saturday of the Easter weekend.

The goal of this year’s drive is to collect 500,000 pounds of food and $500,000 in cash
donations. So far, Daily Bread has raised 213,148 pounds of food and $233,590. The Daily
Bread Spring Drive ends April 22.

The Cantina by Campbell’s Food Truck will also be on site with delicious free samples of
unique recipes made using Campbell’s Condensed Soups and Broths, like Creamy Bacon
Mac and Cheese, and Easy Thai Chicken Noodle Soup.

Please note that Daily Bread is fully booked for sorting. No volunteers are required.

How to donate to the Spring Drive
Non-perishable food donations can be dropped off at any local fire hall 24/7. The most needed food items include peanut butter, canned fish, canned vegetables and fruit, rice, pasta, tomato sauce, canned/dried beans, baby food and formula. See the full list at: www.dailybread.ca/most-needed.
