Gusto Worldwide Media is proud to announce that our original series FISH THE DISH is the winner of the 2017 James Beard Foundation Media Award in the category of “Television Program In Studio or Fixed Location.”
This is the first James Beard win for creator and executive producer Chris Knight, who accepted this prestigious award at tonight’s ceremony.
The James Beard Foundation Awards are considered “the Oscars of the food world” and celebrate inspiring culinary professionals in their respected fields, including chefs, cookbook authors and broadcast media. The winners of the 2017 Media Awards were celebrated at a gala event in New York City.

FISH THE DISH premiered on Canada’s best food and lifestyle channel, Gusto TV, on April 18th, 2016. Host Spencer Watts quickly became a viewer favourite with his passion for food and infectious energy. In between breaking out in spontaneous dancing, Spencer skillfully plated beautiful, mouth-watering seafood dishes. With an underlying message of sustainable fishing, the series inspired viewers, showing just how fast, easy and fun fish recipes are to make.
