LONDON, Ont. — The Oshawa Generals opened the 2025 OHL Championship Series with a statement win, defeating the London Knights 4–2 on Thursday night at Canada Life Place. The victory snapped London’s 12-game playoff winning streak and gave Oshawa a 1–0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

Nashville Predators prospect Andrew Gibson led the way for the Generals with two power-play goals, while Calum Ritchie scored the game-winner late in the third period. Matthew Buckley sealed the win with an empty-net goal.

The Knights took a 2–1 lead into the third period, but Oshawa’s special teams proved decisive, converting three of nine power-play opportunities. Goaltender Jacob Oster was stellar, making 30 saves and earning Save of the Night honors.

Game 2 is set for Saturday, May 10, in London.
