Loon Lake Lodge Season Opening on April 15 – No Damage From Snow Storm

Loon Lake Lodge and RV Resort did not sustain any damage from the February, 2019 stowstorm that hit Oregon and will open as scheduled on April 15th, 2019 for the spring/summer vacation season.

REEDSPORT, Ore.April 10, 2019 /PRNewswire/ — Loon Lake Lodge and RV Resort will indeed be open for the 2019 season starting April 15th as none of the facilities at the resort were damaged. News reports that the lake is closed are inaccurate as although the BLM campground and facilities will be closed, the lake is accessible for recreation. The on-site Loon Lake Watersports and Marina will also open at a later date.

The BLM facilities at the west end of the lake did sustain enough damage to remain closed. However, the structures, RV sites, marina and roadways at Loon Lake Lodge and RV Resort were not impacted.

“We did not sustain damage from the snowstorms,” stated Loon Lake Lodge’s managers, “and will be open as planned on our original date of April 15th, 2019. Any reservations that are currently in our system will remain valid, and we welcome all visitors wishing to enjoy Loon Lake in the Oregon Coast Range, to stay with us. Our Oregon cabins, yurts and RV sites are being booked and we encourage people to plan now.”

Loon Lake Oregon, Lodging and RV site discounts are currently being offered and guests can save significantly, until June 15th. Visit www.loonlakerv.com/specials.

The Oregon lake resort offers Cabins and Cottages, some with full kitchens, and RV sites, plus motel rooms. All lodging and RV sites have individual picnic tables and barbeque/firepits.

For those who prefer to enjoy their meals at the on-site deli, breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks are served inside the lodge with views of the lake through the picture windows or outside on the deck where diners enjoy the fresh air of the mountain location.

To meet demand in recent seasons, Loon Lake Lodge has added more deluxe Yurts to their lodging options for guests seeking the tent camping experience with the comfort of a cabin. The deluxe Oregon Yurts are located in the upper-forested area of the Resort, near the lodge. The heavy canvas circular exterior provides the atmosphere of a tent, yet the interior is furnished with a trundle bed plus bunk beds to accommodate up to four people. And to make the “Glamper” even more comfortable, the Yurts have air conditioners and heaters, a counter top refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot and bed linens.

When not experiencing the recreation of the lake, guests can take the short drive through the Oregon Coast Range along the Umpqua River State Scenic Corridor, past the Dean Creek Elk View Area to the coastal towns of Reedsport and Winchester Bay or continue north up scenic highway 101 to Florence or south to Coos Bay. The 40-mile long Oregonocean dunes, towering up to 500 feet, offer opportunities for ATV riders, sandboarders and tour rides in sand dune buggies. The Winchester Bay Lighthouse and Reedsport Discovery Center are points of interest and numerous hiking trails explore the Umpqua River and lakes along the coast.
