MomenTO: Sounds Like Toronto amplifies the history of Toronto’s music scenes with free live concerts

MomenTO: Sounds Like Toronto celebrates the city’s influence on Canadian music by showcasing some of its diverse talent with six free concerts in October and November.
This music series is part of the City of Toronto’s MomenTO and TO Canada with Love programs.

“Toronto’s music scene has helped define Canada’s identity across the country and around the world,” said Mayor John Tory. “This series will inspire all of us to know and appreciate some of the vibrant rhythms of our city.”

This mix of originators, innovators, established and emerging artists will help honour the enduring impact of Toronto musicians and venues on the national music scene. Concert details are available at http://www.toronto.ca/momento.

“A milestone anniversary like Canada 150 is a unique opportunity to highlight the cultural and artistic vitality of our communities,” said The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage. “Events like the MomenTO: Sounds Like Toronto series bring Canadians together to discover the incredible talent and diversity of our musicians.”

“Music is a global language. It’s the way we share our stories, build stronger more inclusive communities, and transcend generational and cultural boundaries,” said Eleanor McMahon, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport. “It is our privilege to support MomenTO: Sounds Like Toronto concerts in recognition of the City’s historic role as an incubator of Canadian musical talent and innovation.”
