The intersection of Lake Shore Boulevard West and Brookers Lane will be partially closed beginning Friday, November 17 at 9 a.m. until Monday, November 20 at 6 a.m. to allow for streetcar-track replacement, weather permitting.
This closure will impact local access to Brookers Lane and access to the Gardiner Expressway eastbound on-ramp and the westbound off-ramp. Traffic travelling west on Lake Shore Boulevard West will be able to enter the Gardiner Expressway eastbound on-ramp from Lake Shore Boulevard West. Traffic exiting the off-ramp to Lake Shore Boulevard West can only travel west. Pedestrians will not be able to cross Lake Shore Boulevard West at this intersection, but will be able to cross at Park Lawn Road.
Traffic restrictions associated with this closure include:
• Eastbound and westbound traffic on Lake Shore Boulevard West will be maintained in the curb lanes through the intersection.
• Northbound traffic on Brookers Lane will only be able to turn right and will be required to make a U-turn to access the eastbound Gardiner ramp.
• Traffic coming off the westbound ramp will only be able to turn right and will be required to make a U-turn at the next lights to access Brookers Lane.
• Eastbound traffic on Lake Shore Boulevard West will not be able to make a left turn and will be required to make a U-turn at the next traffic lights to access the westbound Gardiner Expressway ramp.
Enhanced signage will inform drivers of the road closures and signal-timing changes on parallel roads will help manage traffic in the area. Road users should expect to encounter some delays and increased traffic on nearby roads.
