
TORONTO – Born in Toronto and raised in Hamilton, Canada, Shai Gilgeous‑Alexander has capped a historic 2024–25 season with every accolade imaginable—claiming the NBA scoring title, league MVP, Finals MVP, and the NBA championship in a single campaign. He’s now a bona fide superstar, not just in OKC, but across the entire basketball world.
Over 76 regular-season games, Gilgeous‑Alexander dominated with an average of 32.7 points, 6.4 assists, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game, all on 51.9% shooting—numbers that placed him atop NBA leaderboards and secured MVP honours.
He led the Thunder to a franchise-record 68–14 finish—tied for the best start in NBA history—and swept their way to the Finals. Consistency carried over with 30.3 points, 5.6 assists, and 4.6 rebounds per game in the Finals series.
The crowning moment came in Game 7 of the Finals, where SGA posted 29 points, 12 assists, and five rebounds in a 103–91 win over Indiana—and was named Finals MVP.
By claiming the scoring title, regular-season MVP, Finals MVP, and NBA championship—all at age 26—he joined the exclusive pantheon of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Michael Jordan, and Shaquille O’Neal .
