Sport excellence to be celebrated Friday with inductions to Toronto Sport Hall of Honour

Mayor John Tory will bring greetings on behalf of the City of Toronto as new inductees, including Olympians Penny Oleksiak, the late Tom Longboat and the Canadian Women’s 4×100-metre Swim Relay Team, will be honoured on Friday at the third annual Toronto Sport Hall of Honour induction ceremony.

5:30 to 6 p.m. Inductees or their representatives available for interviews
6:30 p.m. Induction ceremony (by invitation, media welcome)
7:30 p.m. Unveiling of this year’s Wall of Honour (open to the public)
8 p.m. Inductees or representatives available for interviews
Location: Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre, 875 Morningside Ave.

The Toronto Sport Hall of Honour, a legacy of the 2015 Pan Am and Parapan Am Games, celebrates the contributions and accomplishments of those who have inspired and brought recognition to Toronto through sport. The induction ceremony, hosted by the CBC’s Scott Russell, will include the unveiling of this year’s Wall of Honour.
