Starting today, eligible voters for Ward 22 Scarborough-Agincourt by-election can apply to vote by mail and get on voters’ list

To help reduce the spread of COVID-19, Toronto Elections is offering Mail-in Voting as an alternative option to in-person voting for the Councillor Ward 22 Scarborough-Agincourt by-election.

Eligible voters can apply to Vote by Mail starting today, December 2, until 4 p.m. on December 22, by visiting: https://www.toronto.ca/votebymail. All the required Mail-in Voting materials, including the completed ballot and signed declaration form must be received by 6 p.m. on January 15, 2021.

When the Mail-in Voting application is approved, the eligible voter will be mailed a package that includes:
• a declaration form that must be signed for their vote to count
• an official ballot for the Councillor Ward 22 Scarborough-Agincourt by-election
• a ballot secrecy envelope
• a yellow return envelope with pre-paid postage

After completing all the necessary steps, the Mail-in Voting package should be returned immediately. All packages must be received by 6 p.m. on January 15, 2021, by mail or hand delivered to one of the drop boxes at the following locations listed below starting January 8 until 6 p.m., January 15, 2021:
• Stephen Leacock Seniors Community Centre
2520 Birchmount Rd.
• L’Amoreaux Community Recreation Centre
2000 McNicoll Ave.

Eligible voters can apply and check the status of their package throughout the process by visiting: https://www.toronto.ca/votebymail.

Residents without Internet access who would like to Vote by Mail can call 311.

Voters’ List and MyVote
Beginning December 2, all eligible voters are encouraged to ensure they are on the voters’ list by visiting: https://www.toronto.ca/myvote.

Eligible voters can enter their Ward 22 Scarborough-Agincourt address into MyVote to:
• check to see if they are on the voters’ list
• add or update their voter information
• print or view their voter information card
• view a list of candidates
• find out where to vote during advance vote or on election day
• view a sample of the ballot
• view a map of Ward 22 Scarborough-Agincourt

Appoint a Voting Proxy
If an eligible voter is unable to vote for any reason on any of the available voting days either in-person or by applying to Vote by Mail (https://www.toronto.ca/votebymail), they may appoint another eligible voter to vote on their behalf.

Beginning December 2, eligible voters can request a Voting Proxy Appointment form. Forms can be either emailed or mailed by contacting elections@toronto.ca or calling 311.

Certification of Voting Proxy Appointment forms will be done at 89 Northline Rd., by appointment only.
