Statement from Premier Doug Ford

Ontario Premier Doug Ford

TORONTO — Today, Premier Doug Ford issued the following statement on the next Council of the Federation meeting:

“Today, Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe, Chair of the Council of the Federation, announced the next meeting of the Council of the Federation will take place in Toronto, Ontario. I’m excited and honoured to host my fellow Premiers.

This is a critical time for us to come together to have these important discussions, listen to the concerns of people in every part of Canada, and ensure we stay united. We can all agree that what’s good for Canada is good for Ontario, and what’s good for Ontario is good for Canada.

Ontario remains committed to working with the federal government to invest in critical public services like health care, grow the economy and promote job creation, and build much-needed infrastructure together, including our subways program and over 350 projects submitted through the federal Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program.

I look forward to productive discussions with our provincial partners at the upcoming meeting on December 2.”
