Today, Ontario’s Minister of Government and Consumer Services, Todd Smith, issued the following statement regarding the 150th Anniversary of The Ontario Gazette, being celebrated throughout 2018.
“This year, we are celebrating the 150th Anniversary of The Ontario Gazette, the oldest continuous government publication in the province.
First published on March 7th, 1868, the Gazette has provided readers with information about Ontario laws, proclamations, corporate notices and regulations. It is typically used by private citizens, businesses, lawyers, government employees and people involved in making government decisions.
We congratulate The Ontario Gazette on 150 years of providing the people of Ontario with access to government decisions. We look forward to seeing the Gazette continue to evolve over the next 150 years.”
