Strong turnout for Toronto’s advance vote

The City of Toronto saw a total of 124,306 eligible electors vote during this election’s advance vote, which ran continuously for five days from October 10 to 14. Advance vote was held at 51 locations across the city. 

“We are pleased that so many voters have chosen to take advantage of the City’s advance vote opportunities,” said Ulli S. Watkiss, Toronto City Clerk. “We hope this turnout continues on Election Day, and all eligible electors come out to vote on October 22.”

The following is a breakdown of the advance vote turnout by day:
• Wednesday, October 10 – 24,999
• Thursday, October 11 – 20,701
• Friday, October 12 – 18,483
• Saturday, October 13 – 23,412
• Sunday, October 14 – 36,711

Election Day is on Monday, October 22. Voting places will open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 1,700 locations across the city. Electors are reminded to bring their Voter Information Card and identification showing their name and qualifying Toronto address. 

Any electors who did not receive a card, or who are not on the voters’ list, can be added to the voters’ list at the voting place. 

All electors are encouraged to use the City’s online service MyVote, to: 
• find their ward and map 
• see the candidates running in their ward 
• find out if they are on the voters’ list 
• learn where and when to vote 
• view and print their Voter Information Card 
• find accessibility information about their voting place 
• view a sample of a ballot.

The Voter Assist Terminal (VAT) is a ballot-marking device that allows voters with disabilities and other special needs to mark their ballot privately and independently. The VAT will be available at two locations in each ward on Election Day. If electors require the use of a VAT on Election Day, please call Election Services at 416-338-1111.
