Toronto — Toronto residents can dive into summer sooner than expected, as the City officially opens 15 outdoor pools ahead of schedule to provide relief from rising temperatures.

Mayor Olivia Chow marked the early pool season launch with a visit to one of the participating facilities on Friday. The initiative, supported by a nearly $2 million investment in the City’s 2025 budget, reflects Toronto’s ongoing efforts to address the impacts of climate change by expanding access to public cooling amenities.

“We’re excited to invest more into extending pool hours to help Toronto residents stay cool in warmer weather,” said Mayor Chow in a statement.

Where to Swim Starting Today

Residents can now swim at the following locations:

  • Alex Duff Memorial Pool (Christie Pits Park)

  • Alexandra Park

  • Broadlands Community Recreation Centre

  • Donald D. Summerville Olympic Pools

  • Gord and Irene Risk Community Recreation Centre

  • Goulding Community Recreation Centre

  • Halbert Park Outdoor Pool

  • Maryvale Park

  • McGregor Park Community Centre

  • O’Connor Community Centre

  • Pine Point Park Outdoor Pool

  • Sunnyside Gus Ryder Outdoor Pool

  • West Mall Outdoor Pool (Dennis Flynn Park)

All other city-run outdoor pools — more than 50 in total — will be open by the end of June, with full hours in place by Friday, June 27.

Wading Pools and Splash Pads Also Opening Early

Select wading pools will open early on weekends starting June 14, including those at Dufferin Grove Park, High Park, and Kew Gardens. Splash pads, which operate with a push button, are already open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. through mid-September.

Full Schedules Available Online

Residents are encouraged to check the City’s swimming webpage for up-to-date schedules and availability at their local pool or splash pad.

With this expanded summer access, the City aims to offer more safe, family-friendly ways for people to enjoy Toronto’s parks and public spaces while staying cool in the face of increasingly warm weather.
