Mississauga Library

Your Mississauga Library card is your passport to a world of new experiences – no travel fare needed! This month, the library has launched new e-resources to help you explore the planet, local history and your creative side – all you need is your library card. With its growing number of programs, services and resources, the library provides barrier-free access to opportunities for fun, life-long learning, community-building and empowerment – all without opening your wallet. Check out some of the things that you can do for free at the library or with your library card.

Go on an adventure

Know a young explorer? Go on a family adventure with children-focused magazines, books, videos and photos from National Geographic Kids.

Travel back in time

Who needs a time machine when you have a library card?

  • Access historical newspapers for free. Use ProQuest Historical Newspapers to access issues from the Globe and Mail and Toronto Star, dating back to 1844. For local history, use the Canadiana Public Collections to access Mississauga’s local newspapers.
  • Visit your library location to research your family tree using the Ancestry Library Edition.
  • Walk through time with the library’s historical images gallery, which includes photos of Mississauga people, events, artifacts, buildings and places from the 1860s to the present day.
