Arjun Nanubhai brings speed and offensive skill to the Steelheads’ future lineup
BRAMPTON, ON — The Brampton Steelheads have officially signed forward Arjun Nanubhai to an Ontario Hockey League Scholarship and Development Agreement, securing the commitment of one of the organization’s top selections from the 2026 OHL Priority Selection.
Nanubhai was selected 28th overall in the second round of this year’s draft and becomes the latest member of the Steelheads’ 2026 draft class to commit to the club.
The Oakville native developed with the Mississauga Senators U16 AAA program, where he emerged as one of the top offensive players in the Greater Toronto Area during the 2025-26 season. In 32 regular-season games, the 5-foot-10, 163-pound centreman recorded 22 goals and 25 assists for 47 points.
Known for his speed, puck skills, and offensive instincts, Nanubhai was widely regarded as one of the top prospects available in the 2026 OHL Draft.
Nanubhai Ready for Next Step
Following his selection by Brampton, Nanubhai spoke about the opportunity to begin his OHL career with the Steelheads.
“It’s an honour to go to the Steelheads,” said Nanubhai. “I’m ready to get to work. It’s been a goal of mine since I was a kid and it’s special to celebrate this with my family.”

Steelheads High on New Prospect
Steelheads Head Coach and General Manager James Richmond praised Nanubhai’s skill set and offensive potential after selecting him in June.
“Arjun plays the game fast with skill,” Richmond said. “One of the quickest players in this draft class. He can score and he can find his teammates with great passes. He’s going to look really good in a Steelheads jersey. Welcome to Arjun and his family.”
Building the Future in Brampton
The signing marks another important step for the Steelheads as they continue building their prospect pipeline ahead of the 2026-27 Ontario Hockey League season.
With his combination of speed, playmaking ability, and offensive production, Nanubhai is expected to be an exciting addition to the organization’s future plans as he begins the next stage of his hockey development.
The Steelheads continue preparations for the upcoming season, which opens September 18 at the CAA Centre against the Oshawa Generals.
