For many of us, winter means more home-cooked meals, which can include plenty of baked goods like cookies, brownies or squares. Whether you’ve never baked before or you believe you’re good enough to be the next Canadian baking champion, there is always something new to learn in the kitchen and the Mississauga Library is here to help sharpen your skills.

The library has a wide variety of recipe books and cooking magazines, available electronically and in print. Beyond just books, Library users also have access to Craftsy. Craftsy is an online learning portal that offers classes, tutorials, videos and printable instructions on topics ranging from baking to cake decorating and other activities. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced chef, there are tons of tips, tricks and techniques for you to try out.

As with most skills, practice makes perfect and Mississauga Library is here to help you build your existing skill set or learn something completely new.

Sign up today for a library card and register for Craftsy. Beyond baking or cooking content, you can learn about other hands-on activities as well such as sewing, quilting, knitting, paper crafts, painting, photography, woodworking, home décor and gardening.
