Baskin-Robbins Canada celebrates BGC Canada partnership with new and exciting Milkshake Flavour Slam – and fundraiser – in time for back-to-school

TORONTO, September 6, 2021- Baskin-Robbins Canada launches this week it’s back-to-school promotion which, for the fifth consecutive year, includes a fundraiser in support of BGC Canada, an organization that has been committed to supporting Canadian youth and their families for over 120 years. Throughout the month of September, a percentage of proceeds from the sale of every milkshake purchased across the brand’s 108 shops in Canada will go to BGC Canada. On the heels of the extremely popular Flavour Slam campaign launched in June, the fundraiser this year encourages guests to try the new World Classy Mint milkshake, a flavour combination created for this campaign. For every milkshake sold, Baskin-Robbins will donate 10 cents to BGC Canada.

“The start of a new school year is an exciting time,” said Natalie Joseph, spokesperson for Baskin-Robbins Canada. “As families start a new routine and students head back to class, we want to recognize the strength and resilience demonstrated by Canadian youth and help to make sure their new school year starts on a high note. This annual fundraiser is close to our hearts for this reason, and we hope Canadians will embrace the opportunity to support their local youth.”

Throughout the month, Canadian guests can also donate to BGC Canada through an in-shop, paper icon program. Offered at point of sale, guests can purchase a paper icon for any donation amount, colour the icon and have it posted inside the ice cream shop as a show of solidarity to youth in the community and the work of their local BGC Canada facility and programs.“Back to school means back to Clubs and we are thrilled to be partnering with Baskin-Robbins once again this year,” said Rachael MacKenzie-Neill, Vice President, Marketing & Development. “Ice cream and kids are such a natural fit. Also in September, Baskin-Robbins reintroduces Nanaimo Bar as its Flavour of the Month. The archetypal Canadian flavour was first introduced in January 2022 in honour of the popular dessert named after the city in beautiful British Columbia. This sought-after flavour features creamy French custard-flavoured ice cream, graham pieces, gooey ganache ribbon and chewy coconut pieces.
