Brampton Steelheads Announce Full Preseason Schedule, Including Return of OHL Hockey to Orangeville

Labour Day weekend doubleheader kicks off six-game exhibition slate

BRAMPTON – The Brampton Steelheads have unveiled the full details of their 2025 exhibition schedule, highlighted by a special game in Orangeville that will mark the return of OHL hockey to the area for the first time since 2022.


Labour Day Weekend Doubleheader vs. Guelph Storm

The Steelheads open their preseason with back-to-back matchups against the Guelph Storm over the Labour Day weekend.

  • Friday, August 29 – 7:00 PM: Steelheads host the Storm at CAA Centre

  • Saturday, August 30 – 7:00 PM: The series shifts to Sleeman Centre in Guelph


Road Test in Barrie, Home Game vs. Owen Sound

Brampton continues preseason play with a road contest against the Barrie Colts on Thursday, September 4 (7:00 PM), followed by a home game against the Owen Sound Attack on Friday, September 5 (7:00 PM) at CAA Centre.


Orangeville Game to Feature Barrie Colts

One of the most anticipated dates is Friday, September 12 (7:00 PM), when the Steelheads will host the Barrie Colts at the Alder Recreation Centre in Orangeville. This will be the first OHL game in Orangeville since 2022.

Tickets are $15 with a $5 donation to the Orangeville Flyers association. Fans can expect a first intermission mini-game, Chuck-A-Puck contest, and a post-game autograph session with Steelheads players. Orangeville Minor Hockey will also be collecting non-perishable food items for The Orangeville Food Bank.

“We are so excited to host these two teams in September,” Orangeville Minor Hockey said in a statement. “Giving our families an opportunity to watch the next generation of players in our own arena is something our kids and adults alike will love.”


Local Leaders Share Excitement

“We are very excited to bring Steelheads hockey back to the Town of Orangeville,” said Steelheads President and Owner Elliott Kerr. “Our organization is committed to showcasing one of the most talented, most exciting teams we have ever assembled.”

Orangeville Mayor Lisa Post added: “Anyone who lives or visits Orangeville knows we’re a hockey town. Hosting an OHL game is going to make a lot of fans and players very excited.”


Preseason Wrap-Up

The Steelheads conclude preseason action with their final exhibition game at CAA Centre on Saturday, September 13.
