Brampton Steelheads Women in Sports Game returns to the CAA Centre with panel discussion and special game day events

BRAMPTON, ON — The Brampton Steelheads are bringing back their 2nd Annual Women in Sports Game on Saturday, February 7, combining on-ice action with a full afternoon dedicated to celebrating women shaping the sports industry.

The special event will take place at the CAA Centre, where the Steelheads will face the Sarnia Sting at 4:00 p.m. The game follows a Women in Sports panel discussion and networking session aimed at inspiring the next generation of professionals across media, marketing, analytics, and athletics.

The panel, beginning at 1:30 p.m., will be hosted by Julia Tocheri, host of Jocks N’ Jills – The Official PWHL Podcast, and will feature a diverse group of leaders from across Canada’s sports landscape:

  • Meghan Chayka, Co-Founder & CEO, Stathletes

  • Sarah Orban, Canadian Olympic Track Cyclist

  • Gabriella Best, Director of Marketing, The Pulpit Club

  • Hayley McGoldrick, Manager, Social Media Marketing, Toronto Tempo

  • Jacqueline Doorey, Supervising Producer, Toronto Maple Leafs & Toronto Argonauts

  • Rachel Yerxa, Manager, Partnership Sales & Services, Inter Toronto FC

In addition to the panel and game, fans attending the event will have the opportunity to meet Clara Van Wieren, a forward with the Toronto Sceptres, who will be signing autographs on the concourse during the first intermission.

Tickets for the Women in Sports panel and game start at $16, making the event accessible to students, families, and community members interested in both hockey and career pathways within sports.

Now in its second year, the Brampton Steelheads’ Women in Sports Game reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to leadership, inclusion, and opportunity—both on and off the ice—while highlighting the growing impact of women across every level of the sports industry.
