LONDON, U.K. — Prime Minister Mark Carney concluded a multi-day visit to London this weekend, where he advanced Canada’s trade, economic, and security priorities with key partners in Europe and the Indo-Pacific.
During the visit, Carney met with the prime ministers of the United Kingdom, Australia, Spain, and Iceland, focusing on collaboration in trade, investment, and collective security. Discussions also emphasized support for Ukraine amid Russia’s war of aggression and strategies to promote stability in the Middle East.
In addition to government meetings, Carney engaged with business and investment leaders, presenting Canada as a reliable partner and a destination for global capital. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the goal is to secure new opportunities for Canadian workers, diversify markets, and strengthen resilience against global economic shocks.
Carney also attended the Global Progress Action Summit, where leaders shared strategies to promote sustainable growth and ensure that workers are equipped to thrive in a rapidly shifting global economy.

The trip concluded on a celebratory note as the Prime Minister attended the Women’s Rugby World Cup final, congratulating Team Canada on securing a historic silver medal in the tournament.
