The City of Toronto has issued 2022 interim property tax bills – the first of two tax bills mailed annually. The 2022 final tax bill will be mailed in May.

Payment due dates for the interim tax bills under the three-instalment plan are Tuesday, March 1, Friday, April 1 and Monday, May 2. For property owners enrolled in the Pre-authorized Tax Payment (PTP) program, the 2022 interim tax due dates are:
• Two-instalment plan: March 1
• Six-instalment plan: March 1, April 1, May 2
• Eleven-instalment plan: Tuesday, February 15, Tuesday, March 15, Tuesday, April 19, Monday, May 16, Wednesday, June 15

The 2022 City Budget will be finalized and approved by City Council at its meeting on Thursday, February 17. The final 2022 property tax bill that will be mailed in May will include the final payment dates.

Property owners can make payments through banks or financial institutions using online banking, telephone banking, at a teller or ATM, by enrolling in the PTP program, or by cheque.

New this year is MyToronto Pay – a digital payment platform offering residents new options for property tax and utility (water and solid waste) bill payments:
• Electronic funds transfer – transferred directly from your bank account with no fee
• Visa or American Express with a 2.35 per cent fee
• Debit card with a 1.5 per cent fee.
For more information on this new payment option, visit www.toronto.ca/mytorontopay.

Payments must reach the City before the end of the day on the due date, to avoid late fees and penalties. Property owners enrolled in pre-authorized payments and who have moved are reminded to update their account information with the City or their financial institution, to avoid penalties and fees from payments applied to the wrong property.

Due to public health guidelines counter services at City Hall and civic centres may be closed or limited. Before visiting a counter, please go to https://www.toronto.ca/home/covid-19/affected-city-services/ to find out which counters are open for service.

Property owners can access their property tax account details by using the online Property Tax Lookup tool (https://www.toronto.ca/services-payments/property-taxes-utilities/property-tax/) or by speaking to a customer service representative at 311, available Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with extended hours of 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, February 25, Monday, February 28 and Tuesday, March 1. Customers outside city limits can call 416-392-CITY (2489), and TTY users can call 416-338-0889.
