City of Toronto’s COVID-19 immunization advertising campaign takes over Yonge & Dundas

The City of Toronto’s “Let’s Get Toronto Vaccinated” COVID-19 immunization public education campaign expanded today to include a digital takeover of the Yonge and Dundas intersection in the heart of downtown.

The digital domination supports Toronto’s COVID-19 advertising efforts. The ads appear for 10 seconds as part of a three-minute loop, on a total of five screens, including the three largest digital displays in Canada: the Toronto Eaton Centre tower, the 10 Dundas South digital display, and the Atrium on Bay Media tower. These large digital displays create an iconic image when coordinated together that we hope will be shared by all those who capture it and these screens are often noticeable in the background of local daily television broadcasts.

The campaign ads, designed in-house, are to encourage people to get the COVID-19 vaccine when it’s their turn to protect themselves and others.

The campaign, currently in market in English and 14 other languages, includes ads on radio, transit shelters, newspapers, online, television and social media. The campaign is spread across these various channels to reach as many Torontonians as possible.

The advertising space at one of Canada’s busiest intersections was generously donated by Branded Cites The goal of using this huge space in the heart of Toronto’s downtown is to increase the awareness of getting vaccinated and where to go to book an appointment and find out more information. The ads will be in market in this location until late June, pending availability.

Eligible residents can book an appointment now through or by phone through the Provincial Vaccine Information Line at 1-888-999-6488 (TTY 1-866-797-0007).

“We all look forward to the day when it is safe to gather together again in-person in Yonge-Dundas Square. This ad takeover in this iconic place is one more way we are encouraging residents to get the COVID-19 vaccine when they are eligible. The best way to protect ourselves and end this pandemic is for all of us to get vaccinated. I encourage all Torontonians to get vaccinated when they can. Thank you to Branded Cities for their support and for generously donating this incredibly valuable advertising space to help us spread this important message.”
–  Mayor John Tory

“We are committed to making sure that everyone in our city – regardless of where you live, where you work, or what language you speak – has access to information and resources about how to get vaccinated. That’s why we’re getting the word out in every way possible, from our multilingual ad campaign in 14 languages, to neighbourhood leaders making connections on the ground, to this latest ad campaign in at the Yonge and Dundas intersection. This is all part of our commitment to getting Toronto vaccinated.”
–  Councillor Joe Cressy (Spadina-Fort York), Chair of the Toronto Board of Health

“We are thrilled to be able to support the City of Toronto in keeping Torontonians safer during COVID-19 and to help spread the word about the vaccine and where to go for more information. Three of our digital displays located at Yonge & Dundas are the largest in Canada and are visible from a significant distance, offering an enormous and unique opportunity for the ’Let’s get T.O. Vaccinated‘ message to garner wide exposure.”
