TORONTO – Toronto audiences will soon step into complete darkness to experience internationally acclaimed immersive works SÉANCE and FLIGHT, as DARKFIELD makes its Canadian debut at STACKT Market this fall.

Opening October 4 during STACKT’s Opening Night of ART MONTH, which coincides with the City of Toronto’s Nuit Blanche contemporary art celebration, the productions will run inside purpose-built 40-foot shipping containers. Using 360° binaural audio, environmental effects, and pitch-black environments, DARKFIELD has earned a global reputation for creating alternate realities that blur imagination and reality.

International Acclaim Comes to Toronto

Presented by Realscape Productions in association with DARKFIELD (UK), the Toronto season features two of the company’s most toured works. DARKFIELD productions have attracted more than 700,000 attendees worldwide, with appearances at Venice Film Festival, Tribeca, SXSW, and Edinburgh Fringe.

“These productions are ideal for anyone who loves the thrill of multisensory entertainment and immersing themselves in the unknown,” said Amy Johnson of Realscape Productions in the release.

“At STACKT, we’re proud to support the arts and bring bold, one-of-a-kind experiences to Toronto. DARKFIELD pushes boundaries, captivates the senses, and it’s absolutely not to be missed,” added Jessica Lynch, Vice President at STACKT.

About the Shows

  • SÉANCE (Runtime: 16 minutes; allow 20)
Guests sit inside a darkened parlour, gathered at a séance table where suggestion takes hold and imagination blurs with reality. “It’s skin-tingling, breath-quickening stuff,” wrote The Stage.

  • FLIGHT (Runtime: 22 minutes; allow 25)
Set inside a meticulously recreated airplane cabin, FLIGHT explores two parallel realities inspired by quantum mechanics. Audience members experience turbulence, binaural soundscapes, and branching outcomes. Exeunt Magazine described it as “a reminder of one’s closeness at all times to death that spits you out into the sunlight feeling palpably, certainly, alive.”

Ticket Information

Tickets are on sale now through darkfield.live/toronto with prices starting at $22.00. The shows are suitable for ages 13+, with ages 13–15 requiring adult accompaniment. Content warnings are provided and recommended for review before purchasing.
