Deadline to apply for Mail-in Voting extended to 4 p.m., January 4, for Ward 22 Scarborough-Agincourt by-election

Toronto Elections is extending the deadline to apply for Mail-in Voting for the Councillor Ward 22 Scarborough-Agincourt by-election. Eligible voters can apply to Vote by Mail until 4 p.m. on January 4, 2021. Mail-in Voting is being offered as an alternative option to in-person voting.

Eligible voters can apply for Mail-in Voting until 4 p.m. on January 4, by visiting:Ā https://www.toronto.ca/votebymailĀ or by calling 311. All the required Mail-in Voting materials, including the ballot and signed declaration form, must be received by 6 p.m. on January 15.

When a Mail-in Voting application is approved the eligible voter will be sent a Mail-in Voting package by mail that will include:
• a declaration form that must be signed for their vote to count
• an official Ballot for the Councillor Ward 22 Scarborough-Agincourt By-election
• a ballot secrecy envelope
• a yellow return envelope with pre-paid postage

After completing all the necessary steps, the eligible voter will return the Mail-in Voting package immediately. The package must be received by 6 p.m. on January 15, 2021, by mail, using the pre-paid return envelope, or hand deliver to one of the drop boxes at the locations listed below starting January 8 until 6 p.m. on January 15 — election day:
• Stephen Leacock Seniors Community Centre
2520 Birchmount Rd.
• L’Amoreaux Community Recreation Centre
2000 McNicoll Ave.

Eligible voters can apply and check the status of their Mail-in Voting package throughout the process by visiting:Ā https://www.toronto.ca/votebymail.

Residents without Internet access and would like to apply for Mail-in Voting can call 311. 311 can offer assistance in more than 180 languages.

Voters’ List and MyVote
All eligible voters are encouraged to get on the voters’ list by visiting:Ā https://www.toronto.ca/myvote.

Eligible voters can enter their Ward 22 Scarborough-Agincourt address into Toronto Elections’ MyVote to:
• check to see whether they are on the voters’ list
• add or updateĀ  their voter information
• print or view their voter information card, if their name appears on the voters’ list
• view a list of candidates
• find out where to vote during advance voting or on election day
• view a sample of the ballot
• view a map of Ward 22 Scarborough-Agincourt

Appoint a Voting Proxy
If an eligible voter is unable to vote for any reason on any of the available voting days either in-person or through Mail-in Voting (https://www.toronto.ca/votebymail), they may appoint another eligible voter to vote on their behalf.

Eligible voters can request a Voting Proxy Application by contactingĀ elections@toronto.caĀ  or calling 311.

Certification of Voting Proxy Application forms will be done at 89 Northline Rd., by appointment only.
