Construction Works at Laird Station

This week crews completed phase one of the long-term road occupancy set-up and the changeover to the new lights at the intersection are now in place. The west Laird sidewalk between Eglinton Avenue East and Parklea Drive and the west-to-east crosswalk on the south side of Eglinton Avenue East and Laird Drive are now closed for pedestrian safety. Please watch for signage directing to the alternative routes.

Additional short term lane closures continue as crews drill a couple of boreholes on Laird Drive and Eglinton Avenue as part of the ongoing construction works for the future Laird Station. Work to connect water and sewer services at the main and secondary entrance is almost done.

Beginning as early as next week, crews will drill from the roadway surface into the completed TBM tunnel to fill portions of the tunnels with concrete. This work will take approximately eight weeks to complete. During this time, a minimum of one through lane of traffic in each direction on Eglinton Avenue will be maintained. More information about this work can be found here.
