On Friday, December 31, the City of Toronto will safely ring in 2022 with a livestream featuring pre-recorded performances from iconic Toronto music venues and other locations leading up to fireworks across the waterfront. This year’s program allows Torontonians to enjoy the festivities safely at home, helping to protect against the spread of COVID-19.
At midnight, high-altitude fireworks displays will launch simultaneously across Toronto’s waterfront as part of the livestream broadcast. Fireworks will be viewable from anywhere with views of Lake Ontario. Please note that there are no fireworks happening at Nathan Phillips Square or the CN Tower.
This year’s livestream show and fireworks celebrates the progress the city has made confronting the COVID-19 pandemic over the last 21 months and honours our frontline workers, including all members of Team Toronto working non-stop to help residents get vaccinated.
To further make the livestream as safe a production as possible it will be emceed by television personality Devo Brown now from a closed studio set. The livestream will be offered on the City of Toronto’s CultureTO YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZwUSt

The City’s New Year’s Eve programming is designed with guidance from Toronto Public Health (TPH). The City and TPH recommend that the public stay at home to safely watch the concert and fireworks via the livestream. Anyone viewing the fireworks out in public should keep two metres distance from people they don’t live with and wear a mask.
If you are sick or have cold or flu-like symptoms, please stay at home and seek testing. COVID-19 safety measures were also in place at the venues where performances with audiences took place, including proof of vaccination and ID and mandatory masks at all times, except when eating or drinking.

Personal fireworks in City parks and on beaches is prohibited. Residents are reminded to not set off fireworks on their own property without a permit.
