A time for faith, family and community
Easter is widely observed by Christian communities as a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, marking the culmination of the Holy Week period. Across the Greater Toronto Area and beyond, many families participate in church services, prayer gatherings and traditional celebrations.
The Premier also noted the importance of spending time with loved ones during the holiday.
“As families mark the occasion through prayer, church services, spending quality time together and maybe even an Easter egg hunt, it is also a special time of the year as we welcome the arrival of spring,” Ford said.
The Easter season coincides with the transition into spring, bringing longer days and warmer weather, which often encourages community gatherings and outdoor activities.
Renewed hope for the season ahead
Ford concluded his message by emphasizing the themes of hope and renewal associated with Easter.
“To everyone celebrating, I hope this season brings joy and renewed hope for the days ahead. From my family to yours, I wish everyone a wonderful Easter.”
