Generals Stumble in Home Opener Against Frontenacs

Generals surrender four third-period goals as Kingston spoils Oshawa’s home opener 5–2.

OSHAWA — The Oshawa Generals couldn’t hold on to an early lead in their home opener, falling 5–2 to the Kingston Frontenacs in front of 4,771 fans at the Tribute Communities Centre.


Game Recap

Oshawa came out flying with two quick goals in the opening frame. Luke Posthumus struck just 1:35 into the game, finishing a setup from Vadim Smirnov and Colin Feeley. Minutes later, rookie Rowen Sang buried his first of the season with help from Brady Blaseg, giving the Generals a 2–0 advantage.

Kingston answered late in the first period when Lukas Moore scored at 18:28, trimming Oshawa’s lead to 2–1. After a scoreless second, the game unraveled for the Generals in the third. Kingston poured in four unanswered goals, including a power-play strike from Landon Wright and an empty-netter by Tomas Pobezal, to secure a 5–2 victory.



Star Player

Despite the loss, Oshawa’s Rowen Sang earned third star honours. The rookie forward notched his first OHL goal, providing a bright spot for the Generals on a tough night.

What’s Next

The Generals will hit the road on Friday, September 26, when they face the Guelph Storm at the Sleeman Centre. Puck drop is at 7:30 p.m. as Oshawa looks to bounce back and collect their first win of the 2025/26 campaign.
