Generals Offense Stalls in 4–1 Loss to Windsor

Sam Roberts scores again, but Generals suffer 4–1 home defeat to Windsor Spitfires.

OSHAWA — The Oshawa Generals couldn’t carry their offensive momentum from Friday’s blowout win in Guelph, falling 4–1 to the Windsor Spitfires in front of 4,607 fans at the Tribute Communities Centre.


Game Recap

Windsor jumped out to an early 2–0 lead in the first period, with goals from Jean-Christoph Lemieux and Cole Dubowsky. The Generals briefly cut into the deficit at 16:16 when Sam Roberts buried his third goal of the young season, assisted by rookie Owen Griffin, making it 2–1.

From there, the Spitfires locked down defensively. Oshawa generated chances but couldn’t beat Windsor netminder Michael Newlove, who stopped 35 of 36 shots. Windsor added insurance in the third with a tally from Ethan Belchetz and sealed the game with an empty-netter by Ethan Garden at 18:36.

For Oshawa, Sam Roberts continued his strong start to the season, scoring the lone Generals goal and earning third star honours.

The Generals hit the road on Friday, October 3, for a rematch against the Kingston Frontenacs at Slush Puppie Place. Puck drop is at 7:05 p.m. as Oshawa looks to rebound and even the season series against their East Division rivals.
