BARRIE — The Oshawa Generals couldn’t overcome a rough first period as the Barrie Colts skated to a 5–3 win on Saturday night at Sadlon Arena.
Game Recap
Oshawa struck early when Sam Roberts opened the scoring just 2:56 into the game with help from Anthony Timmerman and Zackary Sandhu. But Barrie responded with a barrage of three goals in the final eight minutes of the first, led by Kashawn Aitcheson and Calvin Crombie, to take a 3–1 lead.
The Generals pushed back in the second period. Brooks Rogowski made it 3–2 at 7:52, finishing a setup from Simon Wang and Brady Murnane. Moments later, rookie defenseman Simon Wang scored his first OHL goal on the power play at 14:26, assisted by Roberts and Onni Kalto, tying the game 3–3.
Barrie quickly reclaimed control, however, with Aitcheson scoring again less than a minute later. The Colts added another insurance goal in the third from captain Cole Beaudoin to close out the 5–3 win.
