Toronto has always been a city that appreciates horsepower in all its forms — whether it’s slammed tuner cars or open-wheel speed demons. This July, the city doubles down on automotive adrenaline with two major events that define car culture in the GTA: ImportFest 2025, which took over the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on July 12, and the upcoming Honda Indy Toronto, returning to Exhibition Place from July 18 to 20.
ImportFest 2025: Canada’s Biggest Car Show Returns
Known as “Canada’s Biggest and Baddest Car Show,” ImportFest 2025 delivered on every promise this past weekend. Thousands of automotive enthusiasts descended on the Metro Toronto Convention Centre to see over 400 show cars, some trailered in from as far as California, New York, and Montreal.
From widebody builds to carbon-fiber exotics and fully customized street machines, the show floor was packed with modified imports, Euros, luxury SUVs, and JDM icons.
In addition to the stunning vehicles, ImportFest featured live DJ sets, model showcases, and vendor booths from top brands like Meguiar’s, KW Suspension, and Toyo Tires.
Beyond the chrome and LED lighting, ImportFest remains an important cultural event for Canada’s auto community — providing a space for small custom shops and big brands alike to connect with a growing and diverse fanbase.
Honda Indy Toronto 2025: Street Racing Returns July 18–20
Next up, Exhibition Place will roar to life as the Honda Indy Toronto 2025 takes over for a full weekend of racing, fanfare, and festival-like energy.
As one of the marquee events in the NTT INDYCAR Series, this year’s Honda Indy will feature international racing stars alongside Canadian drivers like Devlin DeFrancesco, returning to race on home soil.
The 11-turn, 2.84-kilometre street circuit winds through Toronto’s lakefront with breathtaking speed — and it’s not just about INDYCAR. Support races, including the USF Pro 2000 and Sports Car Challenge Canada, provide wall-to-wall action all weekend long.
Fans can expect:
-
Driver autograph sessions
-
Interactive fan zones
-
Food trucks and beer gardens
-
Family-friendly paddock experiences
-
And a chance to walk the track post-race
The Honda Indy isn’t just a motorsports event — it’s a cornerstone of Toronto’s summer calendar and an economic driver that brings tourism, media attention, and corporate investment to the city.
From Static Builds to Speed Runs: Toronto’s Car Scene is Thriving
ImportFest reminded us that car culture is personal. It’s about how you build, how you drive, and how you show up. The Honda Indy Toronto is the flip side — raw competition at 200 mph where engineering meets athleticism.
Together, they prove that Toronto remains Canada’s capital of car culture — one week at a time.
