InSitu Multi-Arts Festival 2026 Brings Immersive Art to Mississauga’s Historic Small Arms Building

MISSISSAUGA — CreativeHub 1352 will present the fifth edition of the award-winning InSitu Multi-Arts Festival 2026 from March 5 to 7, transforming the historic Small Arms Inspection Building into what organizers describe as a dynamic “living storyscape.”

Now a cornerstone of Mississauga’s contemporary arts calendar, the biennial festival brings together more than 30 Mississauga-based artists across disciplines, alongside over 500 local students participating through mentorship and education programs.

A Festival Built on Storytelling and Place

The 2026 theme, The Storied Edition, centers on storytelling, memory and place. Audiences are invited to move freely throughout the heritage site, encountering immersive visual art, live performance, digital media, movement and participatory installations.

Unlike traditional stage-based programming, InSitu offers no single focal point or prescribed path. Visitors chart their own journey through interconnected works that respond directly to the architecture and history of the Small Arms Inspection Building — one of Mississauga’s most significant heritage landmarks.

The format encourages exploration and reflection, highlighting both personal narratives and broader community stories that shape the city’s evolving cultural identity.

Growing Impact in the Local Arts Sector

Since launching in 2016, InSitu has welcomed more than 10,000 participants and provided paid professional opportunities to over 350 local artists. The festival’s model emphasizes both artistic innovation and community engagement, supporting Mississauga’s creative economy while expanding access to contemporary art experiences.

By integrating professional artists with student mentorship programs, CreativeHub 1352 continues to position the festival as both a showcase and a learning platform for emerging talent.
