With a giveaway a day, Halo Top will bring some much needed excitement to the month of January

TORONTOJan. 7, 2019 /CNW/ – Canadians have officially confirmed that January is the worst month of the year. Halo Top Creamery surveyed Canadians to see just how bad it could be and, not surprisingly, 64 per cent of Canadians stated that January is their least favourite month. However, Halo Top® is here to sweeten the new year with a giveaway every single day that’s sure to lift spirits across Canada throughout the entire month.

Other “fun” (or not so fun) facts from the survey include:

  • Canadians would rather stay single, do chores, be sick or even do their taxes than face the elements during January
  • 73 per cent of Canadians admitted to cancelling plans with friends to avoid leaving the house
  • Nearly half of Canadians have faked sick to avoid the freezing trek to work
  • 85 per cent of Canadians would rather flee the country and escape to a warmer destination for the month

“We knew January in Canada was tough but didn’t realize it was this bad,” said Doug Bouton, President & COO of Halo Top Creamery. “With Halo Top giveaways every day for the entire month, people hopefully will start to enjoy January a little bit, at least more than being sick or doing taxes.”

Halo Top’s daily giveaways have been carefully curated to make the month more tolerable for fans across the country. The giveaways will run throughout the month of January, with prizes available for all Canadians. Stay tuned, as the prizes increase in value as the month wears on to offset the dreariness of the winter. Daily giveaways will be announced and hosted on Halo Top Canada’s social handles, @HaloTopCA on Facebook and @HaloTop_CA on Instagram.

Halo Top first launched into Canada in February 2018, and now offers 16 irresistible dairy and non-dairy flavours at select Loblaw banners, select Sobey banners, Metro Ontario and other select retailers. Each serving of Halo Top contains just 80-100 calories and 6-8 grams of sugar, making it the feel good treat for resolution season and throughout the year.
