Leader of the NDP Andrea Horwath Resigns as Provincial Party Leader

The leader of the New Democratic Party of Ontario, Andrea Horwath resigns as leader of the provincial party following a brutal loss in the 2022 Provincial election.

Andrea Horwath was the leader of the New Democrats since 2009. She served for 14 years.

The NDP will remain as official opposition after winning 31 seats to 8 of the liberals.  The Green Party won 1 seat.

The NDP became the official opposition in 2018.
