TORONTO – The Meagan Bebenek Foundation (MBF) will mark a milestone in its fight against childhood brain cancer with “Night of Discovery”, an evening of purpose, passion, and progress on September 25, 2025, at Toronto’s iconic El Mocambo.

The event officially kicks off MBF’s 25th anniversary year, celebrating a quarter-century of research, partnerships, and hope. It also serves as the launchpad for the 25 in 25 Campaign, the Foundation’s most ambitious initiative yet — funding 25 groundbreaking paediatric brain tumour seed research projects over the next 12 months.

“September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and there couldn’t be a better time to honour the lives touched by the Meagan Bebenek Foundation and rally support for the work still to come,” the organization said in its announcement.

A Star-Powered Performance with a Purpose

Adding to the night’s excitement, Juno Award-winning artist Sean Jones, fresh off his successful Palais Royale residency, will take the stage.

“It’s a privilege to lend my voice to such an important cause,” Jones said. “Meagan Bebenek Foundation has spent 25 years turning heartbreak into hope, and I’m proud to stand with them as they launch the next chapter. Night of Discovery is more than a concert — it’s a movement, and I’m grateful to be part of it.”

A Night to Inspire Action

Guests will be treated to gourmet dining, curated cocktails, and personal stories from families and researchers on the front lines of the battle against paediatric brain tumours. The evening will culminate in the emotional unveiling of the 25 in 25 Campaign, showcasing MBF’s legacy and bold vision for the future.

Since its founding in memory of Meagan Bebenek, MBF has raised millions to support paediatric brain tumour research, awareness, and family support programs.

A Call to Action

Founder and President Denise Bebenek described the night as a rallying point for the community.

“This is more than a celebration — it’s a call to action. The Night of Discovery brings our community together to honour our past and fund a future full of hope for children and families facing a brain tumour diagnosis.”
