Mississauga Steelheads defeat the Kingston Frontenac 4 – 3

The Mississauga Steelheads were at home facing the Kingston Frontenac in OHL action this afternoon (Sunday November 13th).

The Frontenac scored first with a goal by C. Thibodeau at 15:31 in the first period, his 3rd goal of the season.

In the 2nd period the Steelheads got on the board with a power play goal by Owen Beck at 7:37 in the period.  A few minutes later at 10:27 into the period, Owen Beck scored another goal giving the Steelheads the 2 – 1 lead.  Matthew Soto of the Kingston Frontenac scored the equalizer tying the game 2 -2 at 9:50 in the period.  Then, a goal by Paul Hughes gave the Frontenac the lead at 17:45  in the period.  At the end of the period, heading into the 2nd intermission the Kingston Frontenac lead the game 3 – 2.

The Steelheads scored in the 3rd period with a goal by Zander Veccia at 3:11, tying the game at 3 goals.  That was all the goals in the third period forcing the game to 3 on 3 overtime.

In the overtime period Owen Beck of the Mississauga Steelheads scored the game winning goal, his 3rd of the game.
