MISSISSAUGA — The City of Mississauga’s MiWay transit system will introduce a series of route updates and service changes starting Sunday, June 30, aimed at improving transit reliability, streamlining routes, and accommodating summer school schedules.

One of the most notable changes involves Route 31 Ogden, which will be revised to extend service to Dixie GO station, enhancing east-west connectivity for local riders. The route will continue to service Dixie Outlet Mall, but with a key change—bus stops will now be relocated to a new on-street bus bay on Dixie Road.

The relocation is due to ongoing congestion and accessibility issues within the mall’s internal terminal area. The change will affect Routes 4 North Service Road, 5 Dixie, and 31 Ogden, all of which will begin operating from the new bus bay on Dixie Road.

Route 5 Dixie Streamlined

As part of the changes, Route 5 Dixie will no longer loop through the Dixie Outlet Mall. Instead, it will travel directly north and south along Dixie Road, with new stops at Rometown Drive (northbound) and within the new on-street bus bay (southbound).

Detours for Routes 24 and 30

Due to construction-related closure of the Scarboro Street Bridge, Routes 24 Northwest and 30 Rexdale will be on temporary detour until further notice. The detour will take buses along Airport Road, bypassing stops on Hull Street and Scarboro Street between Hull Street and York Street.

Summer School Service from July 2 to August 1

While the regular 300-series school routes will be paused during summer, MiWay will operate three dedicated summer school routes:

  • Route 356 Rick Hansen Secondary School

  • Routes 373 and 374 St. Joan of Arc Catholic Secondary School

Additionally, extra trips will be added to Routes 8 and 36 to align with bell times at St. Paul Secondary School and Loyola Catholic Secondary School.

Schedule Adjustments for 13 Routes

To improve on-time performance amid evolving traffic patterns, MiWay will also implement schedule adjustments on the following routes:

  • Weekday, Saturday & Sunday: 4 North Service Rd, 13 Glen Erin, 29 Park Royal, 36 Ridgeway

  • Weekday Only: 24 Northwest, 25 Traders Loop, 45 Winston Churchill, 51 Tomken, 53 Kennedy, 57 Courtneypark, 74 Explorer, 90 Terragar-Copenhagen Loop

  • Weekday & Saturday: 51 Tomken

Transit riders are encouraged to review the full list of changes and plan their trips at miway.ca.
