Recipe Restaurant Group International announced this week that the Italian-American dining giant will open a new location at Vaughan Mills in summer 2026, part of a broader national expansion that includes a second new restaurant in Ottawa’s Westboro neighbourhood.
The upcoming Vaughan Mills location will be the first Olive Garden under Recipe’s operational control in Ontario, following their acquisition of eight existing Olive Garden restaurants in Western Canada. The expansion is part of a national development agreement between Recipe and U.S.-based parent company Darden Restaurants, Inc.
“With these upcoming openings, we’re taking an important step in expanding Olive Garden’s footprint into new Canadian markets,” said Recipe CEO Frank Hennessey.
Known for its signature “When You’re Here, You’re Family” hospitality, Olive Garden has become synonymous with comfort food classics like never-ending breadsticks, pasta dishes, and hearty soups and salads.
Yianni Fountas, COO of Olive Garden Canada at Recipe, says the goal is to deliver the warmth and consistency Olive Garden fans expect. “These new restaurants will welcome guests like family,” he said.
Recipe says more Ontario locations are in the works, with future announcements expected later this year. For now, fans can start looking forward to a summer 2026 grand opening at Vaughan Mills.
