A Vital Economic Driver for Windsor
Since opening as Ontario’s first casino in 1994, Caesars Windsor has become a pillar of the Windsor-Essex region, providing world-class gaming, entertainment, and hospitality experiences. Beyond tourism, the casino has contributed over $53 million to the local community through OLG’s Municipality Contribution Agreement, funding road improvements, parks, recreational facilities, and other economic development projects.
“Caesars Windsor lends vibrancy to our downtown core and means so much to this community,” said Drew Dilkens, Mayor of Windsor. “It provides jobs that have a direct impact on the livelihood of many residents and their families.”
Strengthening Ontario’s Gaming Market
Ontario is reinforcing its leadership in gaming, including the iGaming Ontario Act, which will take effect on May 12, 2025, making iGaming Ontario a standalone agency under the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Gaming.
The casino sector supports over 12,000 jobs across Ontario, contributing $2.5 billion in net profits to the province in 2024. Caesars Windsor, with 100,000 square feet of gaming space, two hotel towers, and an entertainment centre, remains one of the region’s biggest tourist attractions.
“We’re excited to continue to work with Caesars Entertainment Windsor Limited, an iconic global brand,” said Duncan Hannay, CEO of OLG.
“Caesars has a long history of managing Windsor and looks forward to continuing to deliver exceptional guest service,” added Tom Reeg, CEO of Caesars Entertainment.
Continuing Responsible Gaming Standards
Caesars will maintain OLG’s responsible gambling program, PlaySmart, ensuring player health and safety remain a priority.
