Bianca Andreescu jumps to 5th in world tennis rankings after U.S. Open win

Tennis Sensation Boosts Canada’s Ego

We congratulate 19 year old Mississauga, Ontario teen Bianca Andreescu who was able to beat Serena Williams after just 2 sets to lift the Grand Slam title. Last month she won the Rogers Cup after Serena Williams retired after falling ill. This must be a great boost for not only a 19 year old but for Mississauga and a grateful Canadian nation as a whole. This comes close to the Raptors win in the World Series in the NBA basketball finals.

Tennis Up

Tennis is up 25 percent in recent years according to Ken Crosina of the Mayfair clubs.

First Canadian

Serena Williams is almost twice Bianca’s age. Bianca’s composure was remarkable. She is the first Canadian to win a Grand Slam title. “It is great for the game of tennis here” She held her serve at 5. 5. She has moved from 178 to now #5 in the world rankings.

Canada’s slogan was “we are the north” with the Raptors fever earlier this year now tennis sensation. ” She’s the north”. She did 6-3, 75 over Serena Williams in only two sets.

We congratulate Bianca Andreescu on her success and maintaining her composure on such a big stage. She has been a great ambassador. Serena has been a gracious loser. She has been an excellent ambassador for the sport over the years. That is how it should be.
