Perspective: Supreme Court Rules British PM’s Suspension of Parliament unlawful

UK PM Borris Johnson

September 24, 2019 | By Hopeton O’Connor Dennie |

Boris Johnson has been dealt a most humiliating blow as the highest Court in Britain has ruled unanimously that sending home MPs by PM Boris Johnson was unlawful and therefore had no effect. In short the status quo prior to his action should be reverted to. The parliament can resume sitting. In fact it was never suspended.

Misled The Monarch

The queen who is head of state had to be consulted prior to this action taking effect. It would appear that she was lied to by PM Boris Johnson hence giving her accent to his request to suspend parliament until mid October 2019. Did Johnson mislead the Queen? From all appearances he did.

Where Do we Go Now?

Can Boris Johnson who is at the UN attending a climate conference return to clean up this mess. Will a no confidence motion be moved to replace Johnson?

Constitutional

Johnson Appears to be Damaged Goods …

Observers are viewing this 11 member Supreme Court decision as having the effect to trigger a constitutional Crisis. Can Boris Johnson continue as Prime Minister? We think not, but must wait and see.

We cannot take Boris Johnson seriously as he appears to be damaged goods. He has lost all credibility. He must graciously step aside without delay. There appears to be no appeal process. His action was unlawful. Full stop.
