TORONTO — Today, Premier Doug Ford issued the following statement to mark International Holocaust Remembrance Day:
“Today, on this International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we honour the memory of the six million Jewish victims, the survivors of the Holocaust and the millions of others persecuted by the Nazi regime. This year also marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi extermination and concentration camp.
Today, we mark International Holocaust Remembrance Day and honour the lives of the six million Jews who were murdered in the Holocaust.
As we confront a rise antisemitism around the world and here in Ontario, we must continue to stand with our Jewish friends and neighbours as… pic.twitter.com/Q0ptHg3Mf5

As we reflect on this day and confront a rise in antisemitic incidents here in Canada and around the world, let it remind us of the importance of teaching future generations about the dangers of hatred. Together, let’s continue to defend the right of every person in our province to worship, practice their faith and live their lives free of racism, hate and violence.
May we remember the innocent lives lost and reaffirm: never again.”
